Erik Fox, J.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Fox is a licensed psychologist and attorney with 25 years experience in the field of forensic risk assessment and court mandated treatment for sexual and violent offenders. This includes having provided outpatient treatment and evaluations of juvenile and adult male sex offenders on community supervision at the county, state, and federal levels. He also regularly conducts Sexually Violent Predator and Mentally Disordered Offender evaluations in California as well as Sexually Dangerous Individual evaluations for the State of North Dakota. He regularly testifies as an expert witness in civil commitment trials.

In 2000 Dr. Fox joined the faculty at the University of Phoenix in San Diego. He has been teaching graduate level courses for 16 years and has served on the governance board for the School of Social Sciences for over 10 years

Dr. Fox regularly provides live webinars for the Global Institute of Forensic Research on the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the Static-99R. He is one of only 41 individuals worldwide who have been certified as trainers by the developers of the instrument.

Dr. Fox has been a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) since 2002. H was elected to the Board of Directors in 2012 and appointed to continue on the Board in 2015. He also currently serves as the Chair of the Ethics Committee and the Education and Training Committee. He was awarded the “Faculty Member of the Year” (2004) for the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and “Faculty Scholarship of Integration Award” (2011) at the University of Phoenix.

Dr. Fox aims to bring objectivity, critical thinking, and a detailed and thorough approach to his evaluations.
