Lisa Johnson, PsyD, QME

Dr. Lisa Johnson is a California-licensed clinical psychologist (License #18099) with experience in psychological assessment, organizational consulting, business leadership, and psychotherapy. Her background combines clinical psychology with business ownership and organizational management, providing her with experience addressing workplace, personnel, and operational challenges from both psychological and administrative perspectives.

Since 2023, Dr. Johnson has provided psychotherapy to a general adult outpatient population with LifeStance Health. Earlier in her career, she specialized in psychological assessment for law enforcement and other sensitive public-sector positions. From 2004 to 2006, she worked in a private practice setting focused on pre-employment and fitness-for-duty evaluations for law enforcement personnel. From 2000 to 2005, she worked with the County of Los Angeles Chief Administrative Office, Risk Management Division, Occupational Health Program. In that role, she conducted threat assessments, fitness-for-duty evaluations, pre-employment screenings, appraisal-of-promotability evaluations, and appeals involving psychologically disqualified candidates. She also provided consultation to County departments on psychological matters.

From 2005 to 2022, Dr. Johnson served as a managing owner and franchisee. She successfully completed the sale of the business in 2022 after increasing revenue by more than 900 percent. Her responsibilities included employee recruitment and training, human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion, workers’ compensation, logistical operations, sales and marketing, supplier diversity, business analysis, and fiscal management.

Dr. Johnson earned her Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Master of Psychology degrees from Pepperdine University and completed her clinical internship at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University. She also holds a Management Certificate from California State University, Northridge and a Certificate in Board Governance from the African American Board Leadership Institute.

Her academic experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor in Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology from 2002 to 2004. Her current leadership and service roles include membership on the California Bar Oversight Lawyer Assistance Program Committee since 2024.  She has served as a Board member of Airport Marina Counseling Service since 2020 and is currently serving as Board President
