Dr. Kevin A. Porres is a dedicated dental professional committed to providing patients with the highest standard of care. His academic journey began with undergraduate studies at both the University of Southern California and Marshall University, where he consistently maintained a spot on the Dean’s List and ultimately graduated cum laude in 2008 with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Psychology. 

Dr. Porres established a comprehensive clinical foundation early in his career by shadowing top specialists in periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from West Virginia University in May 2014. As a student dentist, he received the prestigious Huntington Dental Society Scholarship and gained vital acute-care experience at the WVU Urgent Care Clinic. Driven by a commitment to evidence-based care, Dr. Porres also conducted clinical research on implant pathology, presenting his findings on the microbiota associated with peri-implantitis and implant failure at the university’s School of Dentistry. 

To further elevate his clinical expertise, Dr. Porres completed an intensive two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Louisville (2014–2016), specializing in hospital-based dentistry. This rigorous training equipped him to comfortably treat medically compromised patients and manage highly complex dental cases. Throughout this time, Dr. Porres was deeply involved in local and regional professional peer groups as well as study clubs, including the prestigious Spear Study Club. 

Licensed in both Kentucky and California, Dr. Porres began his private practice career in Valencia, California, practicing there from September 2016 to March 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he relocated to Kentucky to be closer to family, practicing in Louisville from May 2020 to April 2022. He returned to California in 2022, where he has since maintained his practice in Santa Monica. 

Dr. Porres is a bilingual general dentist fluent in Spanish, offering patients advanced clinical expertise and emergency preparedness with certifications in BLS and ACLS. He is highly trained in modern dental technology, holding an Academy of Laser Dentistry certification for both CO2 and Diode lasers. Committed to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Dr. Porres maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the American Association of Implant Dentistry (AAID).
