Dr. Babak (Bob) Kamkar has been a California-licensed optometrist since 1986. Dr. Kamkar pursued undergraduate work in bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry. He has additional credentials as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (Q.M.E.) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O.). He is experienced in providing Agreed Medical Evaluations (A.M.E.), expert witness testimonies, Fitness for Duty evaluations, and Subsequent Injuries Benefits Trust Fund (SIBTF) evaluations. He has lectured to groups such as the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology and the American Occupational Health Conference (AOHC), and he is a contributor to the AMA Guides newsletter for visual impairment evaluations. Dr. Kamkar is the inventor of APD Tester™, a pupil testing device (Patent No. US9681805), manufactured by the Good-lite Company in Elgin, Illinois. He has volunteered for the Flying Samaritans since 2007, providing free eye care to those in need in central Baja, Mexico.
