Dr. Chantell Strong is a board-certified internal medicine physician with extensive experience in hospital medicine, critical care co-management, and evidence-based patient care across multiple health systems. She currently serves as a Hospitalist at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, California, where she provides comprehensive inpatient and ICU-level care for acutely ill adults, including complex cases requiring advanced management.
Before joining Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital, Dr. Strong practiced as a Hospitalist at Dignity Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center in California and across several hospitals within the Froedtert Health System in Wisconsin. Her responsibilities have included managing critically ill patients within open ICU settings, coordinating admissions, and supporting telemedicine-based patient care across multiple facilities. She has also contributed to the education of residents and medical students, fostering clinical excellence and professional development in hospital-based medicine.
Dr. Strong completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Spectrum Lakeland Health in Saint Joseph, Michigan, where she was actively involved in quality improvement and women’s leadership initiatives. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, where she graduated with Global Health Honors and participated in international medical missions and public health research. Earlier in her academic career, she completed the MEDPREP Program at Southern Illinois University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating with multiple academic honors, including the Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Sigma Theta Honor Societies.
Dedicated to advancing patient safety, Dr. Strong is an advocate for continuous improvement in hospital systems and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her leadership includes active roles in programs supporting women in medicine, medical mentorship for underrepresented students, and community service projects addressing global and local health disparities.
Dr. Strong is board-certified in Internal Medicine and maintains active California medical licensure, with current ACLS and BLS certifications through 2026.
