Dr. Christopher K. Co is a general surgeon with comprehensive training in both elective and emergency surgical care. Since August 2025, he has been practicing with Advance Surgeons Medical Group in Monterey Park, California, where he provides pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management across a broad spectrum of surgical conditions. His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive and open abdominal surgery, with advanced skills in laparoscopy and robotic techniques. He also has experience in trauma and emergency surgery and holds Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.

Dr. Co completed his General Surgery Residency at Riverside Community Hospital from July 2020 to June 2025. During his chief residency year (2024–2025), he supervised and mentored junior residents, medical students, and support staff within a high-volume surgical department. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University, California – College of Osteopathic Medicine (June 2016 – June 2020). He previously received a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavior from the University of California, Davis (September 2008 – June 2012).

Earlier in his career, Dr. Co served as an Implant Coordinator at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco (September 2014 – August 2016), where he managed surgical implant inventory and collaborated with physicians, nurses, and vendors to support patient care. He also worked as a Biological Science Laboratory Technician at the USDA Western Human Nutrition Research Center (January 2013 – September 2013). While attending medical school, he was a Peer Tutor at Touro University (September 2017 – May 2018).

Dr. Co has contributed to academic surgery through his abstract and presentation at the World Trauma Congress 2023 in Tokyo, Japan, titled “Use of Angiography over Time in Patients with Combined Traumatic Brain Injury and Solid Organ Injury.” In 2022, he earned First Place in the American College of Surgeons’ So You Think You Can Operate (SYTYCO) Skills Competition in San Diego, California. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
