Danita Stewart, Ph.D.

Dr. Danita Stewart is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California with more than two decades of experience in psychological assessment, disability evaluation, forensic consultation, and clinical care across medical, legal, and institutional settings. Her professional background reflects a strong emphasis on diagnostic accuracy, thorough documentation, and evidence-based psychological evaluation for diverse populations.

Since January 2024, Dr. Stewart has served as a VA Examiner with MRG Exams in Palmdale, California. In this role, she conducts comprehensive psychological assessments for U.S. Veterans seeking VA disability benefits, utilizing both in-person and telehealth modalities. Her responsibilities include reviewing extensive medical records, completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), formulating medical opinions, and submitting detailed reports through secure web portals within strict timeframes.

From 2014 to 2024, Dr. Stewart worked as a Clinical Consultant for a personal injury and criminal defense law firm in Los Angeles. She interviewed personal injury clients and criminal defendants, reviewed medical and legal records, conducted case research, coordinated referrals for treatment, and provided clinical recommendations to support trial preparation. Her experience bridges clinical psychology and legal analysis, emphasizing clarity, objectivity, and relevance.

Dr. Stewart has also held multiple assessment-focused roles evaluating Social Security and state disability claimants with MDM Services and S&L Medical Group. In these positions, she independently administered, scored, and interpreted psychodiagnostic testing, conducted mental status examinations, and authored comprehensive diagnostic reports with treatment recommendations. Earlier in her career, she served as a clinical evaluator for Workers’ Compensation cases and provided psychotherapy services within Kaiser Permanente, delivering individual, group, and family therapy and participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Stewart has academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at National University, where she taught graduate and undergraduate psychology courses with an emphasis on psychotherapy, cultural competency, and psychopathology.

Dr. Stewart earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Multicultural Emphasis from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, and a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA. She has extensive testing experience, including WAIS, WISC, WPPSI, WRAT, BDI, BAI, and related assessment instruments.
