Dr. Jeffrey Scott Forrest is a board-certified psychiatrist and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association with extensive experience in community mental health. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed his residency in psychiatry at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Forrest is also a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Forrest’s career is marked by his dedication to serving patients with severe and persistent mental illness, particularly within the community mental health center setting. Currently, he is a Staff Psychiatrist at the Orange County Health Care Agency in California, where he provides outpatient care and consultative support for a socioeconomically and culturally diverse population. His clinical focus includes the management of patients who have been recently hospitalized or incarcerated, helping them stabilize and optimize their treatment strategies.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Forrest has served as a Consulting Psychiatrist for Cerebral, Inc., providing supervision and quality assurance for psychiatric nurse practitioners on a virtual platform. His commitment to education is evident in his role as a Clinical Supervisor for the University of California Irvine Residency Training Program and his past contributions to the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, where he served as a senior resident advisor and co-course director for the M2 Intro to Psychiatry course.
Dr. Forrest has contributed to the field through various publications and presentations, particularly focusing on case challenges and educational content for Medscape. His work has earned him recognition and multiple awards throughout his career, including the nomination for the Steve Ambriz Award for Team Excellence.
