Dr. Junao (Jimmy) Wang is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in outpatient care and medicolegal evaluations. He provides clear, comprehensive, and objective assessments across a wide range of psychiatric conditions, drawing on a strong foundation in both clinical psychiatry and analytic reasoning. 

He currently serves as a Medical Expert for the Social Security Administration (SSA), where he conducts detailed record reviews and provides written interrogatories for administrative law judges. He also maintains an active clinical practice as a contract psychiatrist with Expanse MN, treating a diverse outpatient population with a blend of medication management and evidence-based psychotherapy. In addition, Dr. Wang serves as a staff psychiatrist at the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System. His work on the PTSD Clinical Team and as a consultant for the emergency has given him significant experience working with complex cases. He is a dedicated educator, training psychiatry residents and medical students as a preceptor and former longitudinal clerkship director.

Dr. Wang earned his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he was awarded a full merit-based scholarship, a prestigious MNDrive neuromodulation research fellowship, and the Resident Teacher of the Year award for his commitment to medical education. He also holds dual undergraduate degrees in Genetics and Actuarial Science, both earned with high distinction. His interdisciplinary foundation informs his methodical, data-driven approach to psychiatric evaluation.

 His academic work includes research on neuromodulation and treatment-resistant depression, as well as peer-reviewed publications and presentations on interventional psychiatry, medical cannabis, and the use of virtual reality in clinical settings.

Licensed to practice in both California and Minnesota, Dr. Wang brings a balanced expertise in clinical psychiatry, disability evaluation, and academic inquiry—equipping him with the analytical precision and clinical insight essential for high-quality medicolegal assessment.
