Dr. Khalid Salim Khan is a board-certified psychiatrist with clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry, intensive outpatient psychiatric coverage, and the evaluation and treatment of adults and adolescents across a broad range of psychiatric conditions. His work includes the assessment and management of depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other complex psychiatric presentations. His clinical approach emphasizes comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic clarification, risk assessment, evidence-based treatment planning, medication management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and clear medical documentation. 

Since 2019, Dr. Khan has served as a Psychiatrist at Aurora Behavioral Health, primarily in the inpatient setting, with additional coverage of intensive outpatient services as needed. In this role, he provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for patients with a broad range of psychiatric presentations, including high-acuity, complex, and comorbid conditions. His responsibilities include diagnostic assessment, medication management, treatment planning, risk assessment, and coordination with multidisciplinary clinical teams. He also prepares detailed clinical documentation to support treatment decisions, continuity of care, and disposition planning. 

Concurrent with residency training from 2017 to 2019, Dr. Khan provided moonlighting psychiatric coverage through the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services in emergency psychiatry, inpatient psychiatric, and consultation-liaison settings. This work included crisis evaluation, diagnostic assessment, risk assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary medical teams. 

Dr. Khan earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix after completing a Bachelor of Science in Political Science at Arizona State University. He completed psychiatry residency training through the UCLA–Olive View Psychiatry Residency Program and the University of Arizona/Phoenix Children’s Hospital, completing training in 2020. 

Dr. Khan holds active medical licenses in California (A150527) and Arizona (58003) and is certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association. His scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications and abstracts addressing addiction medicine education, marijuana-related public interest, electronic cigarette trends, and medical case reports. He has also presented research at meetings of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and American College of Physicians.
