Dr. Mamoru Tanaka is a California-licensed, board-certified prosthodontist with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience in advanced restorative dentistry. He earned his DDS degree from Nippon Dental University in Tokyo in 2004, followed by specialty training in Esthetic Dentistry (2008) and Prosthodontics (2011) at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a distinction earned by fewer than 1% of U.S. dentists. Dr. Tanaka has also served as a clinical assistant professor at Boston University and Texas A&M University, where he was honored with the 2014 Best Clinical Faculty of the Year award.
Dr. Tanaka’s clinical expertise includes complex full-mouth rehabilitations, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), esthetic and implant restorations, and interdisciplinary treatment planning. He also brings extensive experience in diagnosing and evaluating complex oral conditions such as TMD, dental trauma, prosthetic complications, and implant-related cases. His expert knowledge and unbiased, evidence-based approach make him well-prepared to provide objective medical-legal assessments.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Tanaka enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and traveling. He is also a devoted dog lover.
