Michelle Kamrava, LMFT, ATR

Michelle Kamrava is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) specializing in clinical and forensic psychology. Her work integrates neuroscience-informed and trauma-focused, evidence-based psychotherapy with non-verbal modalities to support emotional regulation and self-awareness. She has experience treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation concerns across diverse populations, and she is skilled in conducting psychological assessments, preparing expert documentation, and maintaining detailed clinical records in alignment with ethical, clinical, and legal documentation standards.

Ms. Kamrava has served as a Clinical Therapist with the UCLA Semel Institute, Operation Mend, delivering trauma-focused, evidence-based interventions to military service members, veterans, and caregivers within an intensive outpatient model. She has also worked as an Interim School Counselor at Sinai Akiba Academy, where she conducted psychosocial and behavioral assessments for K–8 students to identify emotional, developmental, and academic support needs and supported students, parents, and faculty in addressing social, emotional, and mental health concerns to facilitate student wellness.

Her clinical experience includes roles as a Clinical Therapist with Mindpath College Health, where she performed comprehensive intake and diagnostic assessments for university students, conducted structured clinical assessments (CAPS and DIAMOND) to support diagnostic formulation and treatment planning, and authored comprehensive reports for multidisciplinary case conferences and program documentation. As a Primary Therapist at Optimum Performance Institute, she delivered trauma-informed art and expressive therapy for adolescents and families in a residential treatment environment and conducted individual and group sessions addressing emotion regulation, attachment injury, and identity development. She also provided individual, family, and group therapy for children and adolescents at Aviva Family & Children’s Services, completing biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans within agency and court-mandated frameworks.

Ms. Kamrava holds dual master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute, and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She earned a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California and has training in DBT, MBSR, and a 200-hour RYT.
