Dr. Nancy K. Tran is a board-certified internist and geriatrician who has clinical experience across academic and community health centers. Originally based in New Orleans, she earned her undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana, completed her MD at LSU Health Sciences Center, and underwent Internal Medicine training at Ochsner Health before moving west to complete Geriatrics Fellowship at UCLA-VA.
Dr. Tran enjoys practicing geriatric medicine across a range of clinical settings, with focus on improving transitional and dementia care for older adults. During her medical training, she has worked with organizations such as AmeriHealth Caritas and the National Conference of State Legislatures to understand how health policy can work to bridge the gap between advocacy and tangible systemic changes. With experience as a health expert training AI, her clinical interest also includes leveraging technological innovations to enhance clinical workflow, expand geriatric education and increase medical access across underserved populations.
Deeply influenced by her hometown’s Southern hospitality, Dr. Tran’s professional style is meeting her community members where they are at. She regularly engages with community organizations that help immigrants, the unhoused, and reformed incarcerated individuals, many who are seniors, effectively re-integrate into society.
