Nicole Tyer, M.D. has been a practicing physician for 17 years and is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She completed her B.S. in Biochemistry at UCLA in the Honors Program, earned her M.D. from Hahnemann University Hospital / Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her Internship, Residency, and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and completed one year of additional fellowship training in Metabolism and Diabetes at UCLA, where she performed hormonal research on adipocyte stem cells.
Following her training, she had a dual clinical appointment the world-renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City where she cared for complex cancer patients and as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Cornell Medical Center where she taught numerous courses about the doctor-patient relationship and problem-based learning. Yale New Haven Health then recruited Dr. Tyer to serve as the Assistant Program Director for the Yale New Haven Health Internal Medicine Residency at Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut.
Dr. Tyer moved back to California in 2019 where she founded and owns Vitalucent, her solo private practice which offers a wide range of services including primary care, internal medicine, pre-operative evaluations, weight management consultations, and concierge care. Dr. Tyer’s accomplishments include presenting at regional and national conferences and publishing numerous peer reviewed articles, case reports, and book chapters. She has received many awards for her research, teaching, and clinical care.
