Rachyll Dempsey, Psy.D., Q.M.E, ABPP, is a forensic neuropsychologist with offices throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and practicing throughout California. Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in 2006, she has been a Qualified Medical Evaluator since 2014 and an Independent Practitioner through CASOMB (California Sex Offender Management Board) since 2012. Further, she attained Board Certification in Forensic Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in 2017.
Dr. Dempsey has dedicated her career to building her specialty in psychological and neuropsychological testing and assessment. She has taught at UCSF, Argosy University, St. Mary’s College, and Alliant International University, in addition to offering many continuing education seminars at various conferences. Dr. Dempsey has also assisted in creating, credentialing, and running three separate psychology training programs. Dr. Dempsey’s specialty interest is in psychological testing and assessment, and in 2014, she founded Psychological Assessment, Inc. in order to expand her private practice. Her practice includes providing various types of assessments, including assessment of functioning following head injury, dementia and learning disability evaluations, and forensic evaluations for a variety of questions including violence and sex offender risk, competency, fitness for duty, and others. Additionally, Dr. Dempsey is an expert witness and legal consultant. Dr. Dempsey has been qualified as a forensic psychologist, neuropsychologist, correctional specialist, sex offender specialist, and developmental specialist in court.
In addition to belonging to the Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA); Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC); International Association for Correctional and Forensic Psychology (IACFP); National Forensic Mental Health Association (NFMHA); Forensic Mental Health Association of California (FMHAC); National Association for Neuropsychology (NAN), Northern California Neuropsychology Forum (NCNF) (President from 2015-2016); American Psychological Association (APA), including Divisions 14, 40 and 41, Dr. Dempsey is an active committee member for the California Psychological Association (CPA) and California Coalition on Sexual Offending (CCOSO), Bay Area chapter.
