Dr. Virmarie Díaz Fernández is a board-certified psychiatrist and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association with over eight years of clinical experience in general psychiatry, telepsychiatry, integrative behavioral health, and medical leadership. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and is bilingual in Spanish (native) and English (fluent).
Dr. Díaz Fernández currently serves as National Medical Director of Psychiatry at Concert Health. She is the Founder and Psychiatrist at A Mindfulness Space. She also serves in a Clinical Advisor and Supervising Physician capacity within integrated behavioral health settings.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Central Florida/HCA Healthcare GME Consortium in Gainesville, Florida.
Her clinical focus includes women’s mental health, minority mental health, LGBTQ+ affirming care, collaborative care models, telepsychiatry, substance use disorders, and integrative approaches to psychiatric treatment. She has authored peer-reviewed publications, contributed to research in psychiatric education and LGBTQ+ health, and provides continuing medical education (CME) presentations for healthcare professionals. She has presented at national professional conferences, including the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting.
Recognized as Resident of the Year (2018–2020) and recipient of multiple Florida Psychiatric Society awards, Dr. Díaz Fernández is committed to advancing equitable, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health care through innovation, education and community engagement
