Zhiqi Chen (Yuki), DPM, FACFAS, QME

Dr. Zhiqi (Yuki) Chen is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon recognized by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both forefoot and rearfoot/reconstructive ankle surgery. She currently practices with Kaiser Permanente Southern California Medical Group in Fontana, California, where she manages a high-volume clinical and surgical caseload involving complex rearfoot and ankle trauma, advanced reconstruction, and evidence-based multidisciplinary patient care.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Chen serves as a Qualified Medical Evaluator in the California workers’ compensation system, conducting independent medical-legal evaluations of foot and ankle conditions. Her QME work includes assessment of injury causation, permanent impairment, apportionment, and work capacity, with reports prepared in accordance with California Division of Workers’ Compensation guidelines.

Dr. Chen earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where she graduated as a Pi Delta Honor Graduate. She completed her Foot and Ankle Surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. During residency, she assisted in more than 1,000 foot and ankle surgical cases and gained advanced experience in trauma, complex reconstruction, and total ankle replacement.

Dr. Chen’s research has focused on surgical outcomes and diabetic wound care, including bunion correction procedures and the impact of podiatry wound care clinics on reducing emergency department visits and complications for diabetic foot ulcer patients.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and an active member of the Guangdong Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, Dr. Chen brings technical expertise, cultural sensitivity, and a patient-centered approach to her clinical and medical-legal practice.
