Dr. Maricela Tonie Beltran is a board-certified psychiatrist and Qualified Medical Evaluator providing
comprehensive psychiatric medicolegal evaluations throughout California. She evaluates workers’ compensation claims involving psychiatric injury, industrial causation, apportionment, permanent and stationary status, impairment, treatment recommendations, temporary disability, and work restrictions.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Beltran conducts evaluations directly in either language, allowing for
accurate psychiatric assessment without the need for an interpreter in many cases. She is committed to
responsive scheduling, professional communication, and timely report completion.

Dr. Beltran is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She received her Doctor of
Medicine from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, completed a preliminary year in Internal
Medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center, and completed Psychiatry residency training at Loma Linda University
Medical Center. She also earned a Master of Public Health from California State University, Long Beach and is
currently completing advanced fellowship training through the UC Irvine Susan Samueli Integrative Health
Institute.

Her background in Internal Medicine, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and Integrative Psychiatry provides a unique perspective when evaluating the interaction between psychiatric conditions, medical illness, chronic pain, and functional impairment. This multidisciplinary foundation is particularly valuable in cases involving orthopedic injuries, chronic pain syndromes, medical comorbidities, and complex questions regarding psychiatric causation and apportionment.

In addition to her medicolegal work, Dr. Beltran serves as Founder and Medical Director of MENTE SANA
Integrative Psychiatry & Psychotherapy, Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist at Providence St. Joseph Hospital, Medical Director of Advanced Psychological Associates & Wellness Center, and Attending Psychiatrist with Inland Psychiatric Medical Group.
