Ryan N. Reed, Ph.D

Ryan N. Reed, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. He graduated with honors in Psychology from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2008, and earned his Master’s Degree (2013) and Doctorate Degree (2016) from the University of South Dakota, completing his internship at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia. His research areas included the impacts of posttraumatic stress on perception, the impact of blood sugar on motivation and persistence, the application of telehealth in rural communities, and the intersection of substance use and mood. 

Dr. Reed is a seasoned veteran in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress, having served for 9 years as an Active Duty Navy psychologist around the world. He has served as a staff psychologist, Survival/Evasion/Resistance/Escape psychologist, Operational Stress Control and Readiness psychologist, and performance enhancement training psychologist with the Navy. 

Dr. Reed has published book chapters on the topics of military psychology and on substance use, and has publications in psychological journals on self-control and telehealth. He has presented at national conferences on the topics of mindfulness, performance enhancement, substance use, and workplace safety.
