Dr. Stephanie Livshitz is a California-licensed clinical psychologist (PSY29201) with experience in crisis intervention, forensic and public-safety assessment, correctional mental health, employee wellness, and clinical training. Dr. Livshitz specializes in providing psychotherapy and clinical services to first responders and professionals in high-stress occupations, including forensic personnel, educators, healthcare professionals, and public safety employees. Beyond her clinical practice, she provides contracted consultative psychological evaluations, including Mental Status Examinations for the California Disability Determination Services Division (DDSD) in support of Social Security disability determinations. She also performs Compensation and Pension (C&P) examinations for U.S. military veterans.
Dr. Livshitz served as Chief of Psychological Services and Wellness Officer with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner through the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health from January 2025 to June 2026. In this role, she led department-wide psychological wellness initiatives by conducting needs assessments, developing trauma-informed policies and critical incident response protocols, designing workforce training programs, and providing subject matter expertise on mental health, stress management, vicarious trauma, and employee well-being.
From May 2018 through January 2025, Dr. Livshitz worked as a Clinical Psychologist II with the Los Angeles Police Department Mental Evaluation Unit. She served with the Systemwide Mental Assessment Response Team from May 2018 to May 2022 and with the Case Assessment Management Program beginning in May 2022. Her responsibilities included mobile crisis intervention, psychological assessment, evaluation for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization, collaboration with hospitals and clinics, court attendance in diversion-related cases, and delivery of Mental Health Intervention Training for LAPD personnel.
Dr. Livshitz also conducted pre-employment and post-offer suitability screenings for police, fire, and public-safety organizations as a contractor with Psychological Dimensions from January 2020 through December 2022. Earlier, she worked at Twin Towers Correctional Facility from March 2015 through May 2018, providing competency restoration, treatment planning, crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, structured clinical interviews, and therapeutic services for incarcerated patients.
Dr. Livshitz earned her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 2014 and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the same institution in 2011. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Drexel University in 2008. Her additional experience includes psychotherapy with adolescents and adults, hostage-negotiation training support, law-enforcement consultation, and research on cyberbullying and methadone maintenance treatment. She is fluent in Russian.
